This is where you can find a breakdown of the major events we’ve done dating back to our inception in June 2020! You can find a launch-by-launch breakdown of our proceeds right under their listings. You can also find any major milestones or pivotal collaborations we’ve had. The ABLE team would love to extend a hand to you all, and thank you for all the support over the years.
ABLE partnered with the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan to discuss revolution, profitability, and the dilution of radical activism, including a Q&A panel with the ABLE board.
Our fifth newsletter issue features an insider’s look into a CUNY talk on activism, an exclusive interview with the founder and executive director of Darkness Rising, highlights from our first in-person event (Evening of Artivism), and sneak peeks of end-of-year team bonding and plans for 2024. On Thursday, we hosted our first-ever in-person event! Attendees decorated their own custom journals in support of Darkness Rising, a nonprofit committed to fighting for Black mental health through therapy resources and the arts. We raised over $250, and keep an eye out for more events in 2024!

ABLE volunteers joined The Brooklyn Museum as a featured organization at their Teen Night for the second year in a row, bringing some new volunteers along for the night and promoting volunteer opportunities at our table!
SUMMER 2023 LAUNCH – This summer, it’s important to remember to do our part for our planet while we’re lounging in the sun. Support our home and enjoy your favorite drinks by purchasing a mug from ABLE! Proceeds go to Generation Green, a Black woman-led organization fighting for climate justice and youth involvement. ABLE members teamed up with our partner, ART START Inc., and attended their creative workshop featuring interdisciplinary artist, writer, and designer Monica Nguyen as a guest speaker!

We teamed up with the New York City Bar Association’s Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging to spread the word about ABLE! Our work included a series of social media posts, department introductions, and a shoutout in their podcast and newsletter. Thanks for tuning in!
ABLE set up shop in Central Park and Washington Square Park for our first in-person selling event! We sold deadstock totes (in support of Loveland, included under the launch total) and other merchandise.
ABLE volunteers joined The Brooklyn Museum as a featured organization for their LGBTQ+ Teen Night: (Dis)respectfully Us! Board members Genevive and River spoke above the intersectionality of race and sexuality, as well as the process of starting a nonprofit in the modern age. We also gave away merchandise!
Leftover pins from the 2021 Pride Launch sold, with proceeds going to the ACLU. –– $90.00
On October 3, 2021, we officially began our partnership with local NYC nonprofit Art Start Inc., working to provide opportunities for young artists on both of our ends.
We onboarded our first departmental administrative volunteers, doubling our team size!
ABLE artists drew alternate book covers for three issues of local school Hunter College High School’s Book Review –– March 2021, June 2021, and May 2022.
Proceeds went to City Harvest (–– $250.00), CORA (–– $30.00), and UNICEF’s Southasian Flood Relief (–– $125.00) at the donor’s choice.
All proceeds went to Color of Change (included in the sum total for the organization).
